Founded in 2006, the School of International Relations and Diplomacy (SIRD) at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) consists of the Department of Diplomacy, the Department of International Politics, the Department of Political Science and Administration, as well as research institutions such as the Institute of International Studies, the Research Center for Public Diplomacy, the Center of Gender and Global Studies, and the Research Center on the United Nations and International Organizations. At present, the school has 24 staff and faculty, including 8 professors and 9 associate professors. The school has about 500 students, including nearly 200 international students from more than 20 countries.
