Why choose to study this program?

The program in international business, a Master\'s program on Chinese government scholarships, is a designated two-year program to be taught in English at Southeast University by the CSC (China Scholarship Council). The program will prepare the students for their future career in international business. Additionally, the program requires the students to be proficient enough in English listening, speaking, reading and writing to fulfill the task of communication and academic research, and master basic Chinese as well.

Main Courses and Credits

This is a 2-year program taught in English, starting from Oct. to July the next year. The student is required to finish all the courses with 1.5 years and complete 34 academic credits including the four credits of teaching practice and research training. The graduation dissertation is required to be finished in the 4th semester, written in Chinese or English. Each student must experience the formal dissertation defense and present one thesis in the formal conference of SEU. The dissertation is not necessarily to be sent to other academic institution for scrutiny and approval. The student is exempted from having his or her thesis published in the academic publication.

Academic Activity Required to participate in at least three academic activities including academic lectures, academic conferences, teaching practices, technology contests, etc, and present the involved reports at least one time. (2 credits) It is compulsory.
Practice Including teaching practice, social practice and social survey. Required to hand in the involved report before the end of the 4th semester. (2 credits) It is compulsory.
Internship and Career Development

Through this program, the students will grasp solid and systematic theories of international economics and trade, master the dynamics of international business, capable of applying comprehensive knowledge and modern technical tools to analyze concrete cases in the theories and practices of this field and have the strong ability of policy analysis and business operation. They will be familiar with the economic environment and enterprises in China, analyze the specific problems encountered in doing business in China and be able to solve problems in creative ways. They will become management and economic talents in foreign trade companies.

General Qualifications

  1. Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent qualification (for Bachelor's Degree applicants) or Bachelor's Diploma (for Master's Degree applicants).
  2. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding a valid foreign passport and must comply with the relevant regulations stipulated in "Document No. 12 (2020) of the Ministry of Education of the PRC."
  3. Must be in good physical and mental health.
  4. Applicants who are still under 18 as of September (per admission year) must provide a notarized Letter of Guarantee from their designated guardian in China.

1. The CSCA score is specifically required for Bachelor's Degree application. This requirement also varies for each university.

4. Language Proficiency Certificates:

  • English Taught: IELTS with an overall score of 5.5-6.5 or TOEFL iBT 80-90 (requirements vary by university).
  • Chinese Taught: HSK 4–6 (levels and minimum scores vary by major and university).

7. Two (2) Letters of Recommendation: Required from two high school teachers (for Bachelor's Degree) or two university professors/associate professors (for Master's Degrees).
