MasterObjective of the program
Through the study of the M.S. degree, students are able to understand and recognize the transportation sector and the future development trend of related subjects for the transportation industry, especially in railway and urban rail transit industry. Students are able to master the theory to solve the problem of related engineering, technology, method and means, and have the ability of managing in the transportation engineering and related engineering field.
Study Requirements
Course study requirements
Total credits should be no less than 32, including 11 credits in core courses,and more than 13 credits in selective courses. No less than 8 credits are from other compulsory activities.
Thesis Requirements
Students should complete the writing of research proposal before the end of the second semester. The Master degree thesis and research work should be done according to the standards of The Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the thesis defense should be passed finally.

Degree to be awarded
The student who has fulfilled all the courses and thesis requirements will be awarded the Master's Degree of Engineering in major of Transportation Engineering of Tongji University
Note: Since 2010, those who have immigrated to other countries from the Mainland China,Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan and applying to study in Tongji University as international students should meet the following additional requirements: the applicants must hold valid passport or other relevant international recognized documents for at least 4 years; meanwhile, in the latest 4 years (by each April 30th of the year of University registration), the applicants must have lived overseas for over 2 years (Living overseas for 9 months can be converted to 1 year, which is subject to the exit-entry stamp on visa.).
