Tongji University

• a. Non-Chinese citizen in good health;
• b. An applicant for the doctoral program must hold a Master’s degree, or another qualification of equivalent academic performance, as determined by D&I Academic Committee;
• c. Applicants should have undergraduate and postgraduate education experience in relevant fields, and have a good academic performance; d. Applicants must have qualified English proficiency. Those whose mother languages are other than English are required to provide official language test results as supporting material: TOEFL (total score of 80 or above); or IELTS (total score of 6 or above).

Note: Since 2010, those who immigrated to other countries from the Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, or Taiwan and applying to study in Tongji University as international students must satisfy the following additional requirements: 1) the applicant must hold a valid passport or other relevant internationally recognized documents for at least 4 years; and 2) in the latest 4 years (by each April 30th of the year of University registration), the applicant must live overseas for over 2 years (living overseas for 9 months can be converted to 1 year, which is subject to the exit-entry stamp on visa).
