The International Foundation Program is an undergraduate preparatory education program offered by UIBE for international students, aiming to enable their abilities in Chinese listening, speaking, reading, and writing, as well as English and mathematics, to reach the admission level of students in Chinese-taught undergraduate programs of UIBE after one consecutive academic year’s (fall and spring semesters) or one semester's (spring semester) study. Students who participate in this program and pass the examinations can be directly admitted to the Chinese under graduate program of UIBE.
Foundation Program Features
The efficient and rapid-result intensified teaching mode, in which, general Chinese teaching adopts the centralized and intensified language training mode; the specialized Chinese and professional basic knowledge (mathematics, physics and chemistry, etc.) are taught by way of focusing on teaching core knowledge of relevant disciplines. Chinese language courses are offered to improve students’ comprehensive skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing, respectively. In addition, HSK pretest guidance, training and simulation tests are provided. According to the discipline characteristics and professional requirements of UIBE, bridge professional Chinese cours es (business-type courses) are offered, and mathematics and English courses are offered in the spring semester. The“Business Chinese Self-study and Self-testing System” independently developed by the school is available for you free of charge. A two-way combination of classroom learning and practical application.
Foundation Program Curriculum Provision
Zero-basis Program: Applicants are international students who have zero basis of Chinese, and will meet the under graduate admission requirements after one academic year’s intensified study of Chinese, mathematics, English, etc. Template of class schedule: 16 weeks in total in fall semester, 14-16 weeks in spring semester, and the class hours per week of Chinese is more than 30.

Application Requirements
1. High school diploma, good health
2. There is no limit for applicants' Chinese background, but they should pass the placement test by School of International Education during registration period.
3. Applicants under 18 need to submit notarized guardianship certificate upon the approval of UIBE.
