Shanghai Jiao Tong University
Economics and Management - Finance
BachelorPROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Students will initially be placed into a general-studies category as their major. After enrollment, they will be assigned at the direction of their school to a specific major.
The Economic & Management Pilot Program at Antai College of Economics & Management adopts the "major + minor" training mode. This is to say, undergraduate students study one major module while choosing one minor module independently. The rule is that students should choose minor modules from a different category. In particular, the College has newly added a minor module of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Management, which can be applied for by all students.
The curriculum consists of general courses, professional courses, practical research courses and personalized courses. In the first and second years, students will receive general and basic professional education, and in the third or fourth years, students will receive professional in-depth education and personalized education. Students decide their major in the second grade (no limit on the number of students each major can accommodate) and minor module in the third grade. This model fully respects students' willingness to choose their majors and attach a lot of importance to inter-disciplinary education at the same time.
The cultivation of undergraduate talents is oriented towards either academic or applied directions based on students’ different interests and abilities. The course system is designed at the aim of integrating Economics and Management, theoretical knowledge and data analysis, scientific method and actual experience. In the face of the rapid development of information technology and artificial intelligence, the College increases the proportion of the courses related to data analysis and data processing. In the course system, there are few but robust compulsory courses and a large number of elective courses. Students have enough options to choose courses suitable for them according to their knowledge structure, ability advantages and interests, so as to get the most suitable training in the four years of undergraduate study.
