Non DegreeIntroduction:
Tongji University is one of the first universities in China to undertake the Pre-University education of undergraduate students with Chinese government scholarship, and at the same time to recruit self-funded students. Located on Siping Road Campus of Tongji University, the Pre-University Department for foreign students of Tongji University has a teaching building with Chinese traditional architectural characteristics, modern teaching facilities such as multimedia classroom, classroom for special use, lecture hall, electronic reading room, Chinese culture classroom, and a team of full-time teachers of Chinese, physics, mathematics and chemistry. All the teachers have graduate degree or above, and the teachers are capable enough to fully meet the needs of Pre-University education.
At present, the Pre-University Department has preparatory students from nearly 80 countries with Chinese government scholarship and some self-funded students. They will systematically study general Chinese, specialized Chinese, mathematics, physics, chemistry and other basic courses, and participate in various forms of school activities, such as language and culture activities around teaching, Experience China activities, etc.
As one of the most famous universities in China, Tongji University’s international student Pre-University “bridge courses” are connected with China's famous universities. The “bridge courses” are designed according to the characteristics of international students to help students quickly master the learning methods of China’s famous universities, adapt to the undergraduate learning life in advance, shorten the adaptation period of studying abroad, and finally smoothly enter the dream university suitable for themselves to study undergraduate major.

Admission in March 2021 (subject to the Admission Letter), a total learning period of 18 weeks, the specific arrangements are as follows:
Application Qualifications:
Over 18 years (as of December 31st of the application year, December 31st included; only for fall enrollment applicants), high school degree or above; non-Chinese citizen and in good health.
Notes:
If the applicant is under the age of 18 before 31st August of the application year, information on the guardian is required.
The guardian is required to provide the following materials:
1. If the guardian is Chinese citizen, the guardian needs to provide:
(1) resident ID card; (2) Proof of bank deposit (the amount is not less than RMB 100.000, the deadline must be later than January 31 of the following year); (3) Guardian guarantee (click here to download)
2. If the guardian is foreign citizen, the guardian needs to provide:
(1) Copy of passport (information page); (2) Non-student residence permit (the validity period must be later than January 31 of the second year of application); (3) Proof of bank deposit (the amount is not less than RMB 100.000, the deadline must be later than January 31 of the following year); (4) Guardian guarantee (click here to download)
Application and Admission Time:
The spring admission is in mid- to late-February or early March each year and the application period is from November to December;
The fall admission is in early September each year and the application period is from March to June.
The specific time will be informed by the admission notice each year.
