MasterPROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
- The program addresses professional, social and practical aspects of urban design discipline and offers various courses for students.The program combines theoretical study and practical design training with great adaptability.
- The program provides a broad range of basic and practical knowledge in urban design as well as the frontier subjects.
- Full-time students may be granted degree in 2 years upon satisfying the relevant degree awarding requirements .
The program aims to help students understand history and theory of architecture, urban design theory and methodology, building technology, and landscape architecture. It creats an opportunity for the students with background in architecture, urban planning and landscape architecture to pursue advanced study, expand their knowledge range and improve their synthetic capability.
◆Provide comprehensive professional knowledge in urban design. Students will learn project analysis, presentation and design ability in order to promote creative thinking and capability.
◆Provide new theories, technology and methodology in architecture and landscape architecture. Students will understand the development in architectural and landscape design.
◆Provide social and economic knowledge relevant to urban design. Students will be able to adapt to the society and improve the competiveness in employment.
Laboratories and Internship BaseThe school provides good laboratory facilities for research and education. It has a key laboratory of the Ministry of Education “Mountainous Area Town Construction and New Technology”, and a Chongqing Higher Educational Institutions Laboratory Demonstration Centre constituted of Building Physics Laboratory, CAD Laboratory, GIS Laboratory, Architectural Model Laboratory, Building Construction Laboratory, and Design Art Laboratory. The school also provides chances for internship practice at theAcademy of Urban Planning and Design of Chongqing University and the Institute of Architectural Design of Chongqing University.

Students must meet the following 2 requirements to obtain the MSc/MEng degree in architecture:
◆Pass at least 8 courses and obtain no less than 24 credits;
◆Finish a graduation thesis and pass the thesis defence presentation.
- Non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport,in good physical and mental health.
- Bachelor's degree holders in a related academic background.
- Most of the programs need HSK level 4 or above, with the score over 180. Programs in Business and Economics require HSK level 5 or above, with the score over 180. Program in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages requires HSK level 5 or above, with score over 180, and HSKK intermediate level or above, with score over 60.
- An applicant whose native language is Chinese can apply for a HSK test waiver. A further interview will be arranged by the university.
