Programme objectives:

With the deeper development of economic globalization and further increasing of international competition, modern companies are faced with a more stern challenge. This programme targets to cultivate high-level international specialists in the field of business administration or related areas, with strong capabilities to work in strategy management, human resource management, marketing management, corporate finance etc, by way of systematic courses arrangement, project survey and research, as well as the Chinese culture and society study.

Pr. Liu Xing is a PhD candidate supervisor, chairman of the Professors Committee, Discipline Principal of Business Administration and Dean of SEBA at CQU. From 1991 to 1992 he conducted international research collaboration projects at City University of HongKong and has successively visited USA, Canada, UK, and Hong Kong as visiting professor for academic exchanges. Receiving special government allowance from State Council, he has also been awarded the title of “National Outstanding (Education) Accounting Professional” and “Huawei Excellent Teacher”. He has been conducting bilingual teaching for several years

Pr. Long Yong is a PhD candidate supervisor, professor and associate dean of SEBA at CQU. He is a Discipline Principal in Business Administration. Furthermore, he has successively visited Chinese University of Hong Kong, Australia National University and University of Oxford to explore academic communication and joint research. He is supported by MOE Program for New Century Excellent Talents, and he is also honored with distinguished professor of “Chongqing Scholar Program”, Chongqing eminent teacher, and Discipline Principal in Chongqing. Professor Long specializes in strategic management of enterprise, logistics and supply chain management, and venture capital.

Pr. Liu Wei is a PhD holder and PhD candidate supervisor of SEBA at CQU. He is the director of SEBA Management Department, the vice head of Business Administration and Economics Development Research Centre of Chongqing University, and member of the Academic Committee of CQU College of Social Sciences. He is a Discipline Principal of Technological Economics and Management, and the first level and second level candidate for “Chongqing 322 Key Talent Program”. Professor Liu Wei are mainly engaged in research and teaching in technology innovation and management, innovation and entrepreneurship, and science-technology financing and venture capital.

Pr. Meng Weidong is a PhD candidate supervisor of SEBA at CQU, and he is the academic Discipline Principal in management science and engineering. Between September 1998 and September 1999, he was a senior visiting scholar at the International Accounting Research Center, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He receives special government allowance from the State Council, and he is the first and second level candidate of national “Excellent Talents Program”. He has succeeded in applying for supports under the Program for Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University. He is among the first batch of Chongqing Discipline Principals and the first- and second- level candidate of Chongqing “322 Talent Program”. Professor Meng mainly engages in research and teaching of strategy management and finance engineering.

Pr. Dan Bin is a professor, PhD candidate supervisor and vice dean of SEBA at CQU. He is a Discipline Principal in Management Science and Engineering. He is a candidate of Program for Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University, a Discipline Principal in Chongqing, and the first- and second- level candidate of Chongqing “322 Talent Program”. His main research areas are logistics and supply chain management, and modern manufacturing and service management.

Pr. Pu Yongjian is a professor and PhD candidate supervisor of SEBA of CQU. He is a Discipline Principal in applied economies. He is a recipient of government special allowance from State Council and he is the winner of MOE Higher Education Excellent Youth Award, and China One-hundred Technology Innovation Excellent Youth Award, and he is the candidate of MOE 21 Century Core Talent Overseas Study Plan for Revitalizing China Social Science. He is also the advisor of Chongqing Government Advisory Group and the director of China Institute of Quantitative Economics. He is a distinguished professor under “Chongqing Liangjiang Scholar Program” and a winner of Chongqing’s First Top 10 Young Technological Innovation Individuals. His research interests include game theory, information economics, financial engineering, etc.

Pr. Liu Xing is PhD candidate supervisor of SEBA of CQU. He is an Accounting Discipline Principal in Chongqing. He was a senior visiting scholar at the School of Accounting, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Foster School of Business, University of Washington. His research interests include accounting standard, the capital market accounting, company accounting behavior, etc.

Pr. Cao Guohua is a PhD holder and PhD candidate supervisor of SEBA of CQU. He is the director of SEBA Finance Department and a candidate of Program for Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University. Professor Cao has published some research articles in top journals. His research interests include financial investment and option theory.

Pr. Xin Qingquan is the Professor of Accountancy of the School of Economics and Business Administration of Chongqing University. He received his PhD degree in Accounting from Zhongshan Univeristy. Professor Xin has published some research articles in finance and accounting journals such as The Accounting Review, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Journal of Business Ethics. His research interests include accounting information and corporate governance.

Pr. Lu Jing is a professor of finance and deputy director of Department of Finance, is at School of Economics and Business Administration, Chongqing University. He is also a member of American Finance Association. From 2007 to 2008, he visited University of California, San Diego and co-researched with professor Alex Kane, an internationally renowned investment expert. From September 2010 to January 2011, he went to Guanghua School of Management, Peking University for visiting and training. His research focuses on behavioral finance, market microstructure, corporate finance, assets pricing, financial risk measurement, risk management for commercial bank.

Pr. Hao Ying is the Professor of Accountancy of the School of Economics and Business Administration of Chongqing University. He received his PhD degree in Accounting from Chongqing University. He is also Post Ph.D. Corporate Finance and Corporate Governance, in School of Economics and Management Tsinghua University and a visiting scholar in accounting department of Columbia University. His research interests include corporate governance, corporate finance and capital market.

Pr. Chen Qian is the Professor of finance of the School of Economics and Business Administration of Chongqing University. He received his PhD degree from Chongqing University. He is also a visiting scholar in economics department of University of California, San Diego. His research interests include behavioral finance and finance engineer.

Dr. Xu Xixiong is an associate professor and PhD candidate supervisor of SEBA of CQU.He is also a visiting scholar in Stern School of Business, New York University. His research interests include the theory of the firm and corporate governance.

Dr. Zou Yu isa Lecturer of School of Economics and Business Administration , Chongqing University. From Sept 2010 – Aug 2012, he is a visiting research associate of Queen’s University Belfast, UK. His main research interests include but not limit to: Product remanufacturing economics, sustainable supply chain management. He has published in high-profile academic journals like EJOR, IJPR, and IJPE.

Credits requirements(18credits):

compulsory course: at least 6 credits core course: 2 or 3 credits; 3 core courses are compulsory optional course: 2 credits; based on the research direction, choose at least 3 courses Graduation and degree requirements: Completing 18 course credits on time and a successful doctoral thesis defense.

  • Non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport, in good physical and mental health.
  • Have a master's degree in a relevant academic background.
  • Applicants whose native language is not English need to provide score report of English language proficiency test (IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL Internet - based 75 or equivalent).
  • Applicants who apply for English language proficiency certificate waiver shall take a further interview arranged by the university.
