Admission Requirements and Entrance Examinations.

1) Majors at Hongkou Campus (NO ENTRANCE EXAMINATION)

A. Chinese Language, Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (Chinese): Applicants must have Chinese proficiency of New HSK level 4 (a total of no less than 180). Students who study undergraduate program related to Chinese language for one semester in any Chinese university with New HSK level 4 (a total of no less than 195) can apply to study from the second semester of the first academic year. Students who study undergraduate program related to Chinese language program for one academic year in any Chinese university with New HSK level 5 (a total of no less than 180) can apply to study from the second academic year. Students who study undergraduate program related to Chinese language for two academic years in any Chinese university with Chinese proficiency of New HSK level 5 (a total of no less than 210) can apply to study from the third academic year.

B. International Economics and Trade (Chinese): ①Applicants must have Chinese proficiency of New HSK level 4 (a total of no less than 180). ②Students who study undergraduate program related to economics and trade for one semester in any Chinese university with New HSK level 5 (a total of no less than 180) can apply to study from the second semester of the first academic year. Students who study undergraduate program related to economics and trade for one academic year in any Chinese university with New HSK level 6 (a total of no less than 180) can apply to study from the second academic year.

 ★Applicants who want to start from the second semester of the first academic year, the second or the third academic year, need to pass the entrance examination. Entrance examination will be held on January 20, 2026 for students who want to start from the second semester of the first academic year. Entrance examination will be held on July 14, 2026 for students who want to start from second and third academic year. The entrance examination will be held online at 2 p.m. Beijing time. Detailed information about the entrance examination will be sent by email. Those who pass the entrance exam and with good grades from the previous university can be enrolled in the corresponding grade to study.

Application Document and Procedures:

1) Diploma and academic record in original or notarized copy in English or Chinese. Applicants, who are about to graduate, can submit a certification of upcoming graduation.

2) HSK certificate and score report.

3) Original Score Report of “China Scholastic Competency Assessment” (CSCA)

4）Certificate of Undergraduate Study and Transcript from a Chinese University (for transfer students only)

4) Photocopy of passport.

5) If you graduate from high school in China, please submit the copy of your parents’ passport.

6) Proof of Non-Criminal Record.

7) Pay application fee online: 500 RMB (or overseas transfer of 75 USD, upload payment voucher).
