Dalian University of Technology

The Physics in Dalian University of Technology was founded in 1949 by Dr. Wang Daheng who was a famous Academician of the Chinese Academy of Science and Chinese Academy of Engineering. Optics now is an important branch of Physics which is key disciplinary of Liaoning Province, and it has an institute of near-field optics and nanotechnology. Currently, the Optics laboratory has equipment of 100 Million, and area of 200 m2. The specialty has undertaken a number of major research projects in China, for example, 973, 863, and the National Natural Science Fund. The main research directions of Optics are: carbon nanomaterial synthesis and their optoelectronic properties, surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy, scanning probe microscopy (scanning tunneling microscope, the photon scanning tunneling microscopy, atomic force microscopy, etc.), nanomanipulation techniques, ultra-high density near-field optical storage technology, and the applications of these technologies in chemical sensor, information storage, materials science and micro/nano processing aeras. The students graduated from Optics in Dalian University of Technology have played a very important role in universities, research institutions or enterprises and abroad.

Course Requirements

The total credits should NOT be less than 14, including at least 10 credits of compulsory courses and 4 credits of the elective.
