Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) is one of the most important and successful engineering universities in China. In 2020 Academic Ranking of Word Universities (ARWU), BIT ranked 201-300 in the world. Training objectives: to cultivate high professional ethics and social responsibility, solid basic theory, able to systematically apply basic theories, knowledge, skills and methods of computer hardware, software and application, strong engineering practice ability, strong ability to analyze and solve problems, wide range of knowledge, and good team communication ability with certain leadership ability, lifelong learning consciousness and innovation consciousness, with international vision, able to solve practical complex engineering problems in IT field. Graduates can engage in engineering research, technology development, operation and maintenance, project management and information services in computer and related fields in scientific research institutions, universities, government agencies, enterprises and institutions. After five years of practical working, the students trained in this major should meet the basic requirements of qualified computer system engineers, independently undertake complex engineering project tasks, and become the core members or team leaders of the project team.

Main courses (Group): Essential courses, Discrete mathematics, Data structures and algorithms, Object-oriented programming computation theory and algorithms, Numerical analysis, Database principles and design, Principles of computer organization, Assembly language programming, Operating systems, Compiler principles and design, Fundamentals of software engineering, Computer architecture, Practice of operating system principles, Computer networks, Interface technique of microcomputer, Software engineering comprehensive practice ,Practice of networking technology.
Major fields of graduates: graduates can engage in engineering research, technology development, operation and maintenance, project management and information services in computer and related fields in scientific research institutions, universities, government agencies, enterprises and institutions. The work includes software and hardware project research and development, testing, maintenance and management. A considerable number of graduates enter domestic and foreign universities or scientific research institutes to continue to pursue master's and doctoral degrees in computer science and technology and related disciplines or interdisciplinary subjects, and then engage in research and teaching in the field of computer science.
Qualifications:
1. High school graduate and above.
2. Non-Chinese citizens who hold a foreign passport and comply with the relevant regulations set by the “Document No. 12 (2020) of Ministry of Education of the PRC.".

3. Physically and mentally healthy.
4. Applicants under 18 years old (Per September 1st) should provide a letter of guarantee for their guardian in China (notarization required).

3. Language Certificates
- For English-Taught program: IELTS with an overall score of 5.5/6.0 or TOEFL IBT 85 (subject to each university)
- For Chinese-Taught program: HSK 4-6 (level and minimum score are subject to each major and university)
4. High school diploma (for bachelor degree applicants) and Bachelor or Master diploma (for master and doctoral degree applicants), students who hasn’t graduated should provide an official statement from high school or university as a guarantee of the graduation date (Pre-Graduation Statement). 5. High school transcripts (for bachelor degree applicants) and university transcripts (for master and doctoral degree applicants), page sorted from first semester to last or latest semester in one PDF file. 6. 2 (two) recommendation letters from your teachers in high school (for bachelor degree applicants) and two university professors (for master and doctoral degree applicants) along with letterhead, stamp from the school, and sign. Please also include the email and phone number of the recommenders.

8. Additional requirements that apply vary from university to university, for example:
- Entrance Examination / Interview.

Note:
- Documents number 4-6 above, MUST be translated into English / Mandarin by the school or a sworn translator, and need to be legalized.
